Allegiance

This week, see if you can engage your family in a discussion about allegiance. Maybe use the story of Little Red Riding Hood to illustrate that sometimes, people may have an allegiance to something they are faithfully, even prayerfully committed to, and it might be different than your own.

Please watch this video clip regarding Robert E. Lee’s allegiances. Try to identify his basis for his allegiance.

In addition, please talk seriously within your family about some of the issues our country has been facing recently, for instance, the NFL and the choice to stand through the National Anthem.  Listen to this beautiful story about allegiance to a flag.

(A note about this clip; there is some sort of a slideshow that begins with the audio but then the visual cuts out. The audio story is the important part so plan to listen to more than watch this clip).
